Located in Oak Ridge Tennessee USA, Spectrum Techniques is the premier supplier of Exempt Quantity radioisotope sources and nuclear counting equipment. Applications include teaching modern physics, chemistry and biology, health physics training, nuclear medicine and research.

Products include:

                         Disc and plastic laminate sources.

Tube and rod sources for well detectors.

                    Isotope generator for half-life studies.

                    Needle sources for cloud chambers.

                    Geiger-Mueller counting systems and accessories.

                    Scintillation spectrometers and MCA’s

                    Gamma counters and wipe testers.

Most of the counting instruments will operate as stand-alone benchtop units but also contain interfaces and software for operation with both IBM PC compatible and Macintosh computers. Spectrometers include interfaces to USB, SCSI and plug-in ISA card MCA’s for older computers. These interfaces and software allow users to operate the instruments directly from the computer and save data to files for transfer to spreadsheets and storage. Using A/V equipments, instructors may also project the instrument screen for classroom demonstrations.

Radioactive samples are extremely low level and present no known radiation hazard. They are exempt from USNRC and IAEA licensing and may be possessed in limited quantities. US regulations pose no special handling, storage or disposal requirements for these exempt quantity materials.

We also offer a complete line of accessories including GM detectors and stands, absorber sets, scintillation detectors and shields and training manuals for basic radiation properties.

Products may be purchased as complete systems (computer not included) or as individual components for use with your existing equipment. Most instruments operate from 9 volts DC with UL, CSA, CE approved power converters included for 100/120VAC or 210/240VAC operation around the world.
