Plateau Experiment with Graph
 |
| Watch as this continuous animated gif illustrates Plateau Generation
with a
GM35
Geiger Mueller detector and an ST370 counter. This representation is similar to what you will see
when you are generating the Plateau during the experiment. Starting voltage
was 500 volts and this was incremented by 50 volts every 5 seconds. Screen
shots will change every 5 seconds as they do during actual Plateau
generation. The last two frames show the Plateau plot (counts vs. voltage)
and the last frame shows the Plateau plot optimized so that the plot fills
the screen. |
| Half-Life Experiment
with Graph |
 |
|
Watch as this continuous animated gif illustrates a Half-Life
Experiment using the Spectrum Techniques
137Cs/137mBa
Isotope Generator and an ST360 GM Counting System. Each frame will be displayed for 5 seconds
(accelerated from the 20 second dwell time of the actual experiment) and the
resulting half-life graph at the end of the presentation will remain
on-screen for 10 seconds. Watch the counts accumulated in the "Data"
window on the lower left of the screen shots. The data displayed in the "Counts"
window will be illustrative of the counts at the time of the screen capture
and not the true data accumulation. After 20 frames, the number of runs was
increased to "29" to acquire additional data. Further information on this and other
experiments may be found in our LM5 Experiment Lab Manual for
Instructors and Students. |
