Laminate disk sources with an Al/Mylar window are designed for use when alpha particles, low energy beta particles, or low energy x-rays need to be measured but a sealed source is needed. Each source is constructed using a 0.02” thick laminate disk that has a small (0.25”) Al/Mylar window and is offered in two sizes: 1” diameter and 1.75” diameter.
All laminate disk sources have an uncertainty of ± 20% of the labeled activity unless calibrated (± 5%) for an additional cost.
Alpha and beta sources cannot be calibrated.
Not all isotopes can be used in the manufacture of a laminate disk with an Al/Mylar window source.
Domestic and international U.S. NRC exempt quantity source orders with activities over 10 μCi MAY require lead shielding. If required, the lead shield will be added to your order.
