Rod Source

Rod sources are designed for use in well type detectors or clinical instruments. Each source is constructed using an acrylic rod and is offered in two sizes: 0.375” x 5.0” and 0.5” x 5.0”.

The source material is deposited in the bottom of the well located at the end of the rod and sealed using epoxy. The active diameter of the rod source is 0.125”.

All disk sources have an uncertainty of ± 20% of the labeled activity unless calibrated (± 5%) for an additional cost.

Alpha and beta sources cannot be calibrated.
Not all isotopes can be used in the manufacture of a rod source.
